Brief History of Dindeya
Dindeya is a historic village in the Mamou region of Guinea — approximately 25 km from Mamou and 25 km from Timbo — with deep roots in Fulani history and Islamic heritage. The village's mosque, built shortly after that of Timbo, reflects its early and enduring role in community and spiritual life. Its documented history stretches back to at least 1903, during the time of Almamy Ibrahima Barry.
Today, Dindeya's children span the globe — from Guinea to the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan — forming a diaspora united by shared values and a commitment to giving back. The Dindeya Development & Support Organization was founded to carry this legacy forward: preserving cultural heritage while driving sustainable development in Dindeya and beyond.

2006
Foundation — Dindeya Development & Support Organization was founded with a vision to bridge the diaspora-homeland divide through strategic development initiatives in rural Guinea.
2017 – 2023
Growth Phase — Successfully launched the School Fund, Water Access infrastructure, and the Mosque Renovation — raising over $39,000 and delivering lasting improvements to thousands of residents.
2024
Strategic Pivot — Recognized that healthcare infrastructure was the most critical need. Shifted organizational focus to rural hospital development to serve 50,000+ people.
2025 – 2026
Hospital Campaign — Launched a $150,000 fundraising campaign to rebuild and equip the regional hospital, establishing Dindeya as a healthcare hub for the entire region.
